SPEAR Demo, 11 September at Cotswold House, Norton Lindsey

Brilliant demo held a SPEAR rescue centre today. Helped out massively by our friends from Rebound Flyball. We really appreciate all your help!

The demo ran really smoothly so thanks to all that took part, the crowd loved it as did the event organisers.

All dogs ran brilliantly (except a few minor hiccups - mostly from our younger dogs!)

Juno ran absolutely fab being her first time ever doing something so busy (with dogs and people!) So special well done to her!

Hopefully we helped them to raise plenty of money

European Flyball Competition, 5-7 August

Well where can I start. . . Home after an absolutely amazing weekend at the European flyball championships!

Firstly thank you to Cambridgeshire Canines for hosting such a fabulous event! Everything was planned down to the t, everything was well organised and the venue was amazing! !

Brilliant weekend with with our club! All of the handlers worked extremely hard and perfected our warm up and racing with our new team. Thanks so much to our WOW friends helping us out we couldn'...t have done it without you!

Then the dogs. . .

It was Hugo's first competition this year after retraining his box turn and he ran very well. His handler was back in her stride and had some amazing cross over's. He had a bit of a shaky start on Friday with his box turn but then improved over the weekend.

Maisey has been out for a couple of months due to a suspected injury. She came back brilliantly adjusting well to running in a completely different position to what she normally does. Both her handler and her raced very well.

Well Skye ran extremely well all weekend for three different handlers (none of which were her owner!)

Todd, after a slightly rocky start on Friday he ran his socks off at his first ever outdoor comp (not running nfc) running for both Sie and his owner. He really got into his stride in the double elimination round and ran beautifully for Sie as start dog!

And finally little Izzy who usually runs in our other team ran brilliantly with different dogs and in a different position!

After not competing to the best of our ability on Friday and gaining a seed time of 20.88 seconds unfortunately we weren't then in the best division we could be for Saturday. On Saturday we got our act together and raced our socks off and first leg of first race ran 19.88 seconds meaning we unfortunately broke out of our division. After swapping dogs we then got knocked out gaining seventh place. However it was the first time the team had ran totally together this year, for one reason or another, so we now know what those four dogs are capable of! Bring on the next European championships!

WOW competition, 03 July 2016 at Ryton on Dunsmore

Scorchin Rebels and Scorchin Fury had a brilliant time competing at Wow's indoor tournament over the weekend!

We enjoyed some very close and friendly racing, all dogs and handlers running well.

Rebels came home with fourth place, with a new seed time of 22.04 quicker than our last competition, but a while to go off their best time. They also won the bendy ball trophy as one of their races was picked at random to receive the award and they won!

...

Fury ran nfc again to give Hugo a bit more practice on his box turn after being re trained, and Todd more competition experience. . .and boy he did good! Running really well all day in both lanes and hitting 4.15 seconds as his pb of the day!

Antics Flyball team competition, 23-24 June 2016 at Bakewell

Brilliant racing this weekend at the antics competition in Bakewell.

Rebels came fourth, with all the dogs running brilliantly, and getting a new seed time of 21.40 seconds! Keris's dog teazer gained her flyball dog intermediate award, gaining 1,000 points - so well done to both!

Fury ran nfc as Maisey couldn't make it. But our three dogs (Todd, Skye and Hugo) ran brilliantly with a fastest time of 13.58 seconds! Looking very promising for when Maisey is back competing!

...

And huge congratulations to Lexie who is one of our starter dogs who came along to the comp and did the warm ups, her first time in the ring and she did us all proud! Very high hopes for this new dog 😊😊

WOW competition, 04 June 2016 at Ryton on Dunsmore

Well where do I start! Absolutely fantastic day racing at WOW's competition yesterday, and so many achievements!

Rebels ran fantastically all day! Keris cross over's were so much better! They won all of their races bar one, and came home with second place! Three of the dogs beat their personal bests, Iz running 6.13, ebb running 4.58 and Marley smashing her pb and running 4.98! Rebels also achieved a new seed time of 21.88 seconds!

Fury ran nfc - Hugo held his turn all day! E...ven when doing full runs which is fantastic news! And shows all of his training is working! Dale ran him really well, with his first ever time handling a dog in a competition. And Todd . . . So so proud of him! After a rocky start with him only running in the red lane even at training, he raced first dog in the blue lane yesterday and completed all three races perfectly! He ran extremely well at 4.09seconds! 😊😊😊😊

Very proud captain!

Mad Mutts competition, 14th May 2016 at White Nurseries

Scorchin' Rebel's Had a fantastic weekend racing at the Madd Mutts competition in Earls Barton. It was our first outdoor competition this year! After a bit of a rocky start to racing all the dogs and handlers put in a great days racing!

Zak was able to take part in the starters competition running with Leicestershire Lunatics. He did so well and did not put a paw wrong all day! We were all so proud of him! He did absolutely fantastically and helped his team achieve fourth place!

WOW and Storm Chasers competition, 26th March 2016 at Ashley Hall Cheshire

Scorchin Fury raced really well, but unfortunately  we broke out three times, which we thought we might, however,  it meant we were not placed in our division. It was only Todd's second open competition, at the last competition he competed at, we had to leave quite big cross overs between him and the other dogs. However, we have worked really hard practicing his cross overs during training and all of this effort paid off. His cross overs with the other dogs were brilliant! He did really well.

However, we still have lots to work on with him, as he was not consistent in the blue lane, so he needs lots more practice with distractions!

The fastest time the team ran that day was 19.79 seconds! More than 2 seconds faster than their time at the previsous competition!

WOW competition, 7th May 2016 at Ryton on Dunsmore

Scorchin' Fury had a brilliant days racing at WOW's indoor show. They raced NFC (not for competition) as we are still retraining Hugo's box turn. We had so many achievements that day!

It was Lauren's first time racing a dog in a competition environment, Skye ran beautifully for her, and running very close to her pb at 4.2 seconds. It was also Lauren's mum Anne's first time in the ring and she did extremely well handling Hugo.

It was Hugo's first competition back after months of retraining his box turn, which he held fantastically throughout the day.

Max kindly ran Todd and she did a superb job, beating his current pb and running 4.01 seconds! He also achieved his Flyball Dog Award gaining 200 points. Finally Maisey ran her little socks off all day and achieved her Flyball Dog Graduate Award gainined 3,000 points.

Extreme Racers competition, 27th February 2016 at Newark Showground

Scorchin' Pawz had a fantastic day of racing at the Extreme Racers competition at Newark.

Scorchin' Rebel's came second in their division, despite their fastest time of 22.03 seconds being a little down on expectations.

Todd one of the clubs youngest dogs ready for competition, made his debut for Scorchin' Fury, recording a promising time of 4.4 seconds. However, unfortunately Fury finished 5th in their division.
